The Internet Freedom Preservation Act of 2009 (H.R. 3458) is a good solid bill to support net neutrality. See the details at Save the Internet.
Small Vermont needs a level playing field to compete with the big boys, especially small businesses or media outlets. Contact your representatives now. Find Representative Welch's response below to my request to him to support H.R. 3458.

Dear Mr. Golden,
Thank you for cont acting me about H.R. 3458, the Internet Freedom Preservation Act of 2009. I appreciate hearing from you on this issue.
I believe that it is important to ensure the internet remains open and available for all consumers and I support net neutrality legislation. I also believe that we must collaborate with public-private partnerships to promote the further expansion of broadband throughout Vermont. Universal broadband access is essential for rural development and expansion of economic opportunity for both families and businesses.
Introduced by Rep. Ed Markey, H.R. 3458 would ensure freedom to use the internet without interference or discriminatory treatment by broadband network providers. This bill would direct the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to conduct an assessment of broadband network compliance with previous FCC statements outlining the intended use of the internet. In addition, H.R. 3458 would require a report to Congress on whether networks provide spam filters or parental controls, and whether they add additional surcharges for quality of service. I will be sure to keep your thoughts in mind the next opportunity Congress has to address this issue.
Thank you again for your feedback. Please continue to be in touch and I hope to see you soon in Vermont.
Sincerely,
PETER WELCH
Member of Congress

The sad truth is bills like
The sad truth is bills like these are very hard to pass. While the people want and demand freedom to express themselves, both parties and some corrupt rich folks really do not want to see freedom on the internet as they see it now (because it allows anyone to express the truth or report some severe issues like the Tax Parties in the US which got almost NO attention from the major news media but had protests nationwide - why is that?).
Only through efforts such as yourself and others can I hope that everyone will always speak out passionately for freedom of speech and the internet, and we'll need to because the people in power do not want the little person having a voice.

Good Post,
Human or Robot?
This post would appear to be by a human, testing the limits of our filtering. We'll let this stay for kicks: who's gonna get an MBA in India? This post will probably help somebody's Google ranking. We leave it as an artifact. More like it will be removed ;-)
We'll do a follow up to our Indians vs. Robots post later after we've looked over the logs more.
